The day before, an intriguing announcement of the event, which was to be announced on Monday, January 16, appeared on social networks in an account dedicated to the Porsche Formula E team. The racing world suggested it could be about buying Williams – the team even had to issue a rebuttal.
In the end, there was nothing to do but wait for news from Porsche – and that disappointed many. It turned out that the “significant event” in the German company meant the renaming of the social media channel from Porsche Formula E to Porsche Motorsport.
“It happened!” said the German company in a statement. “This channel was and still is home to the vibrant world of electric street racing, but it’s time to expand it into the official global Porsche Motorsport channel.”
However, Porsche left room for intrigue by adding another sentence: “To be continued.”
