He set the fastest lap in 1 minute 12.476 seconds. The second representative of Monaco, Charles Leclerc, at Ferrari, is 0.041 seconds behind the Mexican.
Spaniard Carlos Sainz’s teammate Leclerc is third with +0.370 seconds.
Qualifying will take place later on Saturday. The race will take place on May 29.
