Sergio Perez’s contract with Red Bull will expire at the end of the season. The rider hopes to continue working with the team and in Monaco head Christian Horner mentioned the conditions under which the Mexican will be offered a new agreement.
“Sergio must continue to do what he is doing,” Christian Horner told the FIA press conference. “He is doing a great job in his role and we are all very happy for him. He is driving very well this season.
The speed difference between him and Max has decreased considerably compared to last year. I think Sergio feels comfortable in the car now. This year he already won a fantastic pole position in Jeddah.
Sergio is driving a great race and has proven to be a team player. I don’t think there is anyone in the paddock who can do their part better. Sergio is doing everything right and if he continues to act in the same vein, the contract negotiations will be quite easy.
