Red Bull has named all the drivers included in the youth program in 2023, and we’ve already written about four of them who will compete in Formula 2.
In total, this program features 12 drivers from ten countries who will show what they are capable of in F2, F3, F4, Japanese Super Formula and international karting. As highlighted in a press release, five newcomers have joined the Red Bull Junior Team, and some have very well-known names associated with Formula 1 history, so “it will be interesting to see how their legacy will enrich this program .”
This mainly concerns Enzo Fittipaldi, who will now receive the support of Red Bull and will continue to race in F2, as well as Sebastian Montoya, the 17-year-old son of former Formula 1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya, who twice (in 2002 and 2003 ) in the top three at the end of the World Championship, the first full season in Formula 3 is coming.
Two representatives of Japan are now on the schedule: Ayumu Iwasa, who is preparing for his second season in F2, will be joined by Souta Arao: the 17-year-old driver performed well in French Formula 4, eventually finishing third of the season, and now he’s going to give his best in British F3.
Continuing on the theme of Japan, it is worth adding that New Zealander Liam Lawson will be heading to the Land of the Rising Sun to race in Super Formula, as many promising drivers did before him, competing for the couldn’t get into F1 right away for some reason. or IndyCar.
The youngest newcomer to the Red Bull program, 15-year-old Briton Arvid Lindblad, who only debuted in formulas last year, will spend a full season in Italian F4 but has already started the year in the F4 UAE winter series.
The Frenchman Enzo Deligny is 14 years old, was in karting until this year and now he will make his debut in the Spanish F4.
Finally, the young Thai Enzo Tarnvanchikul is only 13, but he is already the reigning world champion: in 2022 he won the title in the OK-Junior class. This year, with the support of Red Bull, Enzo will participate in the European and World Championships for the Prema Academy team.
Of course, regardless of age and nationality, all these racers dream of one day reaching the top of the world’s motorsport pyramid and continuing the work begun by Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen. Which of them will succeed and whether it will succeed, time will tell.
