After Haas refused to cooperate with Mick Schumacher, the German driver signed a contract as a reserve driver with Mercedes. The head of the US team, Gunther Steiner, believes that Mick has found a good option to continue his career.
Günther Steiner: “I think he has a good place at Mercedes because they have a lot of related teams. Nick de Vries got the chance to drive the Williams, after which he signed an indefinite contract with AlphaTauri, so Schumacher has a good chance. I hope none of the riders develop health problems, but if there are, Mick can replace them.
Sometimes one step back leads to two steps forward. Mick has found a place in the team where he has the best chance of being behind the wheel in the future.
Mick and I broke up, but that doesn’t mean we broke up during a fight. In the end, we acted as openly as possible, which is why we are still communicating with Mick.
