Lewis Hamilton fans and unique Formula 1 collectors have the chance to own a Mercedes W11 signed by the seven-time world champion. Of course, if these people are not too limited in their resources.
We are talking about the rear wing endplate of the car that Lewis raced in 2020 and took his seventh and final title to date. The rarity was personally handed over to the Austrian charity foundation Österreichische Sporthilfe by Toto Wolff, head of the Mercedes team.
The auction will take place online on the evening of February 10. The lot description states that Hamilton signed the carbon fiber plate last December, that it measures approximately 80 x 80 cm and that it comes with an official Mercedes-AMG F1 Team certificate.
On Sunday evening, no one had yet offered more than 10,000 euros for the part, but it is expected to go under the hammer for 50,000. All money raised at the auction will be used to support Austrian athletes with certain health conditions. The fund is currently working with 263 such athletes.
