Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton said he had been bullied by his peers since he was six years old.
“I didn’t feel able to go home and talk to my parents. I didn’t want my dad to think I was weak. I was bullied when I was six years old. At that school, I was probably one of only three kids of color there, and it’s just that the bigger, stronger kids often attacked me.
The teachers told me that I would become nothing. Then you go to history class and there are no pictures of people of color in their books. I thought, “Oh, well, where are the people who look like me?” – quote the words of the Hamilton GPFans.
Hamilton is an active participant in movements against racial discrimination in society and sport.
