Miami increases grandstand capacity by 3,000 seats

The Miami Grand Prix will be held for the second time on May 7, 2023 and the organizers of the race are actively preparing for this. We’ve talked about what’s going to change on the track and in the paddock, as well as the grandstand capacity of the Florida autodrome being increased by 3,000 seats.

Last year the number of seats was deliberately limited to avoid congestion on the access roads to the circuit and traffic jams, but even then the intention was to increase this number further if possible. Now the capacity of the grandstands will be increased to 56,000 seats and freely accessible areas will also be expanded.

“Our first race last May was a commercial success, all tickets were sold and more than 240,000 spectators visited the track over the weekend,” Racer Tyler Epp, president of the Miami International Autodrome, was quoted as saying. – Interest in the race is huge and we are increasing grandstand capacity, expanding guest areas and improving opportunities for Free Zone ticket holders.

Everything we do is designed to provide fans with an unparalleled experience so that the race in Miami in the next decade is one not to be missed.”

Miami Grand Prix organizers estimate the economic impact to local businesses from last year’s race at $350 million.
