BONHAMS auctioned an interesting lot – Jordan-Ford 191 (chassis 191/6), in which Michael Schumacher made his debut in Formula 1 during the first practice session at Spa in 1991, with the eighth fastest time.
The car is in working condition, at Silverstone she took part in the shooting of Sky Sport F1, where she was driven by Mick Schumacher and Karun Chandhok.
The car is accompanied by extensive documentation, including a copy of a letter from Jordan engineer Trevor Foster: “I was Michael Schumacher’s racing engineer on his debut… Michael immediately went faster than Andrea[de Cesaris]at the start of the first practice, after which he asked to be transferred to a spare car (chassis 04). Soon after, Michael’s car suffered a minor leak in the cooling system, requiring the engine to be removed. Andrea was happy to stay in the spare car and we gave Michael Andrea’s car (chassis 06) for the remainder of practice, where he set the eighth fastest time, again faster than Andrea.
