This year, Jenson Button returns to Le Mans, where he will drive a modified Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 as part of the crew of car #56, alongside Le Mans winner Mike Rockenfeller and NASCAR legend Jimmie Johnson.
At Le Mans, #56 is reserved for cars using experimental technologies aimed at the future. This team performs outside the standings and cannot claim victory in the race, but always attracts special attention.
At a press conference dedicated to this statement, Jenson was asked if he wanted to speak in NASCAR – and he answered positively, but without oval tracks.
Jenson Button “I have a lot of respect for those who perform on the ovals – this is beyond anything I’ve ever experienced. Fighting at that speed, so close together and against the wall, I never had that skill.
