The Alfa Romeo F1 team has teamed up with world-renowned artist BOOGIE to create an Art Car project to bring fans closer to the team and celebrate the start of the 2023 season.
BOOGIE painted one of the team’s cars into a unique piece of art on display at Waldhaus Flims in the Swiss Alps.
The car will be shown in London next week, then taken to the Grand Prix venues and sold at auction at the end of the year.
Alessandro Alunni Bravi, Sauber Group Managing Director and team spokesman: “We are proud to bring this project to life with the incredible BOOGIE. He, like our team, is the epitome of Swiss talent with his own unique style. Like BOOGIE, we’re not afraid to take on the challenge, and the Art Car project is the best example of that.
We don’t want Art Car to stay closed at our headquarters: this is a project for our community, for our fans, to make them feel closer to the team.”
BOOGIE, artist: “The chance to paint a Formula 1 car only comes once in a lifetime, especially for a team in Switzerland. With my drawing I have tried to convey the spirit of this team: the letters brought together symbolize all the people, partners and organizations that contributed to the creation of the machine.”
