A day after the victory in Monaco, Red Bull Racing confirmed a two-year contract extension for Sergio Perez…
Christian Horner, Team Principal: “Since joining Red Bull Racing, Sergio has done a fantastic job. Time and again he proved that he was a great team player and when he felt comfortable in our car, he showed his real strength to be reckoned with by his opponents.
This year he has taken another step by significantly narrowing the gap to world champion Max Verstappen, as evidenced by his pole position in Jeddah and victory in Monaco.
In such a situation, the contract remained just a formality – we wanted to keep his speed, skill and experience. We are pleased to announce that Perez will be with our team until 2024. Together with Max, they will be the driver pair that can give us the biggest wins in Formula 1.”
Sergio Perez: Incredible week. Winning the Monaco Grand Prix is every racer’s dream, and the announcement that I would be driving for Red Bull until 2024 made me very happy.
I am proud to be part of this team, in which I feel at home. We work well together and a good relationship with Max, both on and off the track, helps us move forward.
We’ve made a lot of progress this season and I’m really excited to see where that can take us all in the future.”
