Like last year, Haas F1 was the first to showcase the new car by posting a series of photos on its website. More precisely, she showed a new color on computer renders of last year’s car, and we will see the real VF-23 almost in a month – on March 5 during the first leg of the season in Bahrain.
The team starts the season with a new title partner, changing its name to MoneyGram Haas F1, and with an updated line-up – Kevin Magnussen’s partner is Nico Hulkenberg. Pietro Fittipaldi remained a test and reserve pilot.
The livery remained the same – a balanced combination of red, white and black, which is characteristic of both the team and MoneyGram – the car is particularly recognizable from the front, but there is a lot more black on the side.
Some of the sponsors associated with Mick Schumacher left the team – their logos were removed from the official website literally on the day of the presentation, but new ones were added – the team assures that the financial situation is more stable than ever, and with a stronger roster, the Haas F1 driver also counts on stable sports results.
Gene Haas, Team Owner: “I am delighted to welcome MoneyGram as a title partner for 2023 and beyond. Nice to see our new livery as MoneyGram Haas F1 Team.
Last year the team showed strong performances and started earning points again. The natural goal for the 2023 season is more consistency. I have no doubt that in Kevin Magnussen and Niko Hulkenberg the team has an experienced driver duo who are more than capable of scoring points on Sunday.”
There was no one at the virtual presentation – the team sent the release to the management quotes page and a dozen photos.
Gunter Steiner, team principal: “Of course I share everyone’s enthusiasm for the presentation of the new car livery. My enthusiasm is also due to the fact that presentation is one of the most important points on the pre-season calendar, after which we have come a step closer to what we really want to do: race.
I love the colors, which no doubt look more noble and modern, marking a new era of collaboration with MoneyGram as the title partner. It’s an exciting time in Formula 1 – it’s great that we were the first to introduce livery, but now the team’s focus is on getting the VF-23 ready for the track and for the season ahead.
Given last year’s results, we have a basis for further development. The whole team has worked hard for this and with Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg we have two talented riders who will earn points for us. I can’t wait for the season to start!”
The MoneyGram Haas F1 team will hold the VF-23’s first run-in at Silverstone on February 11 as part of a regulated filming day.
