Presenting Alfa Romeo’s new car today, Valtteri Bottas stressed that he is setting himself higher goals in his second season with the Swiss team.
Valtteri Bottas: “In the winter I had a good rest and that is important because now we have started the preparations for the season, after which we will give our best until the end of the year. Therefore, it was necessary to recover mentally and physically, but now I am full of energy and ready to get back to work.
It’s simple: we have to achieve more, because we always have to strive for better results, to get better, and that goes for the whole team, including me. Such ambitions motivate us, so I expect that we will perform more consistently and earn more points.
But how to achieve all this, of course, is the most difficult moment. Success depends on many nuances and on the hard coordinated work of the whole team. As I have said many times, I am very interested in working with Alfa Romeo and I feel that my role here is very different from what I did in Formula 1 before.
I am more involved in everything and get more information. Naturally, when our collaboration started at the beginning of last year, I tried to apply all my past experience and technical knowledge, and this work continued throughout the year.
If there were problems with the balance of the car or anything else, we always tried to analyze the maximum amount of data and find the best solution. When I got to the base of the team I was always interested in how things were going, asked some questions, shared my ideas and we discussed all this.
In general, we have an open, sincere relationship with the team, I always want to get as detailed information as possible about the new car, about the chassis. This work went in the right direction, but it continues now. Let’s see how this will affect the behavior of the new C43, but I hope we were able to improve in all respects, and now it’s important not to slow down.
