Formula E has introduced a new soundtrack that will accompany race broadcasts on TV and digital platforms – it uses the sound of third generation (Gen3) electric racing cars.
The soundtrack was created by British Tom Player of Lost Track Productions and Alex Bingham of the production company Machine. During tests conducted by the NIO333 and Mahindra Racing teams, they recorded the sound of the cars and this was then integrated into a work composed by Tom Player.
The press office of the World Electric Car Racing Championship devoted a separate press release to this topic, reporting that the musical arrangement was recorded at the legendary Abbey Road studio, to which a symphony orchestra of 55 musicians was invited.
The new music will be played on television for the first time this weekend during broadcasts from India, where the next Formula E round will be held on the city circuit in Hyderabad.
The full score has been released as a separate album called Change – the official Formula 1 soundtrack is available on all major streaming platforms, including Apple Music.
