In the winter we talked about the addition of the LEGO Technic series with a striking orange Formula 1 car, made in collaboration with McLaren Racing.
But the Danish company, which makes construction toys loved by kids (and adults) around the world, decided to go further. The Australian division built a full size McLaren car and today Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo took an active part in the presentation, which of course took place in their team’s boxes.
The machine is composed of 288315 individual parts, 27 people participated in its creation, who spent 1893 hours of working time on this project. The result is an impressive toy, comparable to a real car, the dimensions approximately meet the requirements of the technical regulations and you can even sit in the cockpit, which Daniel and Lando immediately checked themselves.
The car was only delivered to the paddock this morning and anyone with tickets to the Australian Grand Prix will be able to see it for the rest of the weekend in Melbourne.
