Zach Brown received important guests at the McLaren base

Zack Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing is a serious person because the position demands it. But we know that he also likes to have fun – for example, he offers his riders all sorts of interesting rewards for their performance. Incidentally, he recently hinted to Oscar Piastri that the team’s Australian debutant should think about what he would like to get for his first podium in the future.

Recently, Brown had fun and received a delegation of young fans at the McLaren base in Woking – five British schoolchildren who were lucky enough to go on such an interesting field trip. The team’s press service devoted a short film to this event, where a lot is made clear without words. But a few questions from the guys and answers from the head of the famous company may be worth noting.

Q: What does a CEO actually do?
Zach Brown: Good question. Not everyone knows the exact answer to it.

Question: Do you consider your work to be the best in the world?
Zach Brown: Not really. The best work in the world from Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, our riders. But my work in this ranking is second from the top.

Q: Do you have to build a new car every year?
Zach Brown: Yes, every year we build a completely new car, that’s what Formula 1 is all about. And our new car is called the MCL60, because this year we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the company.

Q: So who will be Lando’s partner this year?
Zach Brown: Oscar Piastri is a very fast racer. That’s why we hired him.

Q: Do you think you can win races this year?
Zach Brown: Hope so! If we can get at least one win this year, it will be more than last season.

Q: Are you excited for the start of the new season?
Zach Brown: How does it look? I am always concerned.

Q: Can we participate in choosing the color for your cars?
Zach Brown: Please, but on the condition that you choose orange!

Question: If you were stuck in an elevator, who would you be easier with in such a situation, with Toto Wolff or with Christian Horner?
Zach Brown: Guys, you are cruel! I don’t think I’ll ever use the elevator again!

This response from Zack Brown caused laughter among the young guys on the team. At the end of the meeting, one of the boys gives him his drawing of a Formula 1 car, and the film ends with a funny scene: the executive director of McLaren Racing holds the picture in his hand, looks at it, after which Andrea Stella, the team leader, calls and says, “Come to my cubicle, I have some ideas regarding our new car!”
