Oscar Piastri will make his Formula 1 debut at the wheel of McLaren in 2023. The Australian rider thinks he is ready for the first race in Bahrain.
Oscar Piastri: “I am happy to have joined McLaren this year and made my debut in Formula 1. The off-season has been great – I’ve been working hard to prepare for the upcoming season. The time spent on base and driving the simulator proved to be interesting and productive, and everyone on the team gave me a warm welcome. I’ve settled in well and now I’m fully focused on getting behind the wheel and hitting the track in Bahrain.
The MCL60 makes a strong impression. The coming year will be unforgettable, not only for my debut, but also for the team celebrating the 60th anniversary of McLaren Racing. There are interesting challenges ahead of us and I look forward to playing with Lando. We work hard all season to earn points.”
