Sainz: We took a risk by going to the track during the presentation

In recent years, Formula 1 teams have rarely shown new cars at the presentation, limited to the publication of computer renderings, but today Ferrari has acted differently. The Scuderia not only showed the new car, but also tested the new car live at the Fiorano circuit in front of the fans in the stands, the press and spectators around the world.

Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz said the team was taking a big risk in releasing the car on the track because there is always a risk of something going wrong with the first exit of the novelty, but there were no problems with the SF-23.

“The most important thing is that there were no problems today and everything went perfectly,” Carlos shared after a few laps. – Going out on the track in front of a large crowd in a completely new Formula 1 car is quite risky, but we didn’t have any problems.

Usually in the first laps there are problems here and there, there can be breakdowns, but today the car ran without any problems. I could even attack a little bit and feel the car in the corners. Charles and I have even provided the engineers with feedback that will come in handy tomorrow.

Tomorrow we will continue with the preparations for Bahrain and we will drive 100 kilometers. Of course, this distance doesn’t allow us to judge the speed capabilities of the car or feel how it drives, but at least we’ve already taken some good steps in the right direction.
