The Ferrari team presented the SF-23 on the circuit in Fiorano

Ferrari – unlike other teams – held their presentation at the factory test track in Fiorano, and the new SF-23 car was immediately tested on track. Charles Leclerc was the first to drive, then Carlos Sainz replaced him, and of course it was a very nice event.

The SF-23 was the 69th Formula 1 car to be designed and built at Maranello, and the 500 Italian team fans in the stands were able to watch it in action.

Frederick Vasseur, Team leader: “Over the past five weeks I have been able to get to know many members of the team. We have an excellent team of specialists and of course everyone is highly motivated.

Today, together with our partners and tifosi, we present the car for 2023, and I think it is very beautiful. I like the red color and the classic spelling of the company name on the rear fender, which reminds us of Ferrari’s historical heritage.

But soon we will focus entirely on other aspects, on speed and on results. We have two talented riders, both hungry for victory, and they have the necessary skills to achieve it.

The goal is to win the championship, which is not easy, because our opponents set themselves exactly the same task. We need to fine-tune psychologically and always strive to work in such a way that tomorrow’s results are better than those we show today.

Enrico Cardile, Head of Chassis: “Our 2023 car is an evolution of last year, but in reality it has been completely redesigned. In terms of aerodynamics, we have increased the vertical downforce to better adapt the car to the new regulations and to achieve the desired balance characteristics.

The suspension has also been redesigned to improve aerodynamics and increase the car’s setup on the track. The most obvious changes are in the front suspension area, where we moved the tie rod lower. The front wing has also changed, as has the design of the bow. As for the aero kit, it’s now a more extreme version of what we saw last year.”

Enrico Gualtieri, chief nanny: “Preparing for the new season is usually the most stressful time of the year, and this winter was no exception. Modernization of power plants has been banned since last year and only individual improvements to improve reliability can be made, but this was our Achilles heel last year.

We focused on the internal combustion engine and engine generators. At the same time, we tried to make the most of the experience we gained on the circuits last season, analyzing all the information collected and highlighting the weaknesses of all components of the power plants.

We tried to understand the causes of the problems and used all the resources at our disposal to find a solution. This work spanned all areas from the development phase to testing, enabling rapid testing of new solutions. This process never ends, as we continuously strive for improvements to achieve the required level of reliability.”
