Today in London the Alpine team will be presenting the machine of the year 2023: the A523. Team riders Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly have already had time during the filming day at Silverstone to evaluate the novelty and share their first impressions.
Esteban Ocon: “Until you get behind the wheel again, you just don’t realize how much you miss Formula 1! It was an honor for me to get behind the wheel of the A521 and appreciate the work done on this machine. A huge thank you to all the women and men at Weary and Enstone for building the car and getting it ready to hit the track.
The first lap is always memorable and I’m glad our run-in went without a hitch. On Thursday evening we will show the world the A523 and next week we will hit the track again in Bahrain.”
Pierre Gasly: “It is fantastic to be behind the wheel in Alpine colors again. During the run-in I got the first idea about the car – it was perfectly controlled. I know everyone on the team worked tirelessly on the project over the winter and after the races I was happy to see the faces of these people in the pits.
I’m looking forward to the presentation on Thursday and next week during testing we can learn more about the car.
