The Alpine presentation was the tenth and last of this season, but the car made its track debut just a few days before the presentation. the participation of two main racers.
First on the podium were the bosses: Luca de Meo, CEO of the Renault Group, Laurent Rossi, CEO of Alpine Cars and team leader Otmar Szafnauer.
Lauren Rossi: “When you introduce a new car, you are always incredibly proud. Since Alpine joined the Formula 1 grid in 2021, I have been delighted to see our continued progress each season. Everyone at Alpine is united by a desire to compete and succeed in racing – a legacy of our heritage that will define the company’s sports program for many years to come.
I would like to thank the Enstone and Weary engineering teams, led by Pat, Matt and Bruno, for their excellent work in developing the great A523 – we look forward to seeing it on track.
I am proud to have entrusted Esteban and Pierre with the opportunity to represent our brand as key drivers in Formula 1. I am sure they will do a great job with it both on and off the track and contribute to the team’s success in achieving its goal. Alpine is going up and will continue to do so, I’m sure.”
Otmar Safnauerteam boss: “In this part of the season, everyone is looking forward to the most important moment: the presentation of the new car, which summarizes the work done.
Achieving our goal in 2022, of achieving a well-deserved fourth place in the Constructors’ Championship, gives us great satisfaction. This is an important milestone in Laurent Rossi’s 100-race plan at the start of the season. We have just under 80 races left for this mission and I am proud to lead the team in this tough challenge.
Our goal in 2023 is to finish at least fourth again, with more convincing results – more finishes, more points and fewer retirements. I have high expectations for everyone in the team, not least Esteban and Pierre, who will work together to achieve the best results for the team.”
