Jack Doohan will remain Alpine’s reserve driver

At the last Alpine presentation in London, the team confirmed that Jack Doohan will remain a reserve driver in 2023. In the new season, the Australian driver will focus on performances in Formula 2, but if necessary he is ready to replace Esteban Okon or Pierre Gasly.

Jack Duane: “I’m happy to be working with Esteban and Pierre this year – the team has a very strong pair of drivers. Both will be able to provide serious feedback that will make the car faster. For my part, I want to get as much experience from them as possible.

My role includes many different options. I must be prepared to take the wheel under any circumstances if one of them is unable to participate in the race. Overall I will be with the team and help the key racers to maximize the results of the weekend.

I have a lot of work to do on the simulator in Enstone. In addition, I will spend a few test days behind the wheel of an old car, so as not to forget the feeling of Formula 1.
