Horner: It doesn’t matter which of our drivers wins the title

With the victory in Monaco, Sergio Perez closed the gap in Max Verstappen’s individual classification to fifteen points. Red Bull Racing head Christian Horner said he doesn’t care which of his two drivers will win the title.

“We don’t care which of them becomes champion,” Horner said after the finish of the Monaco Grand Prix. – It is extremely important for us to win the Constructors’ Championship.

It doesn’t matter if Max or Sergio win the title, they are both Red Bull drivers and have the same chance. There is still a long season ahead of us, in which ups and downs are inevitable. However, it’s great that both our riders can fight to the end.

Sergio is at the peak of his career and doing a great job. It’s fantastic that he is performing at such a level, but it is imperative that our drivers work together because Ferrari has a very fast car, especially in qualifying. We don’t know how fast they are in the races, but it’s definitely a tough competition and we have to work together to stay ahead of both our drivers.”

Speaking of the events of the Spanish Grand Prix, when the team asked Perez to miss a partner, Horner said: “Of course we discussed this point right after the race in Barcelona – there is no misunderstanding between us.

Sergio clearly shows what the situation was like in that race. He is now in excellent shape, confident and pilots very well. The speed difference between him and Max is much smaller than before.”
