The American auction house Mecum has auctioned several rare collections of posters dedicated to races of various categories that have taken place on both sides of the Atlantic since the 1930s.
The auction will be held online and will feature over 400 original posters and photographs from Formula 1, the 24 Hours of Le Mans and other historic events over several weeks.
For example, the collection related to Formula 1 consists of 72 posters, including unique items dedicated to the Monaco Grand Prix, which took place in the distant 1930s. But there are many other works of this genre, which the masters of the racing poster timed to coincide with the stages of the World Championship held in Europe and America in the second half of the 20th century, up to 1992.
Those interested in such lots can bid until March 7; 69 original endurance racing posters are on sale until March 14, while 55 historic touring car posters are on sale until March 21.
