Last year we wrote several times about the film project involving Lewis Hamilton and Brad Pitt – the Hollywood star is also entrusted with the lead role in the upcoming feature film about Formula 1.
The seven-time world champion shared some details of the pre-production process as he acts as producer and consultant through his newly formed Dawn Apollo Films.
“Now we are choosing an actor to play the character who will be Brad’s partner, and this is a very interesting process,” RacingNews365 quoted Hamilton. – Basically, it has to do with looking at samples and listening to applicants. We have footage of some of their scenes and we’re reviewing this footage.
I sat in the office with producer Jerry Bruckheimer, director Joe Kosinski and Brad, we watched everything together and shared our thoughts. I want to make a film that is about diversity and equality, I want it to be about what Formula 1 should be in the future – or should be now, but one day it will be.
At the moment we continue to work on the script, there are several versions of it, but we are waiting for a new one, already corrected. This is how the process goes, and I participated in it over the Christmas period. I’m looking forward to getting the script done soon, but for now Brad and I are discussing our characters’ personalities.”
There is no information yet about the schedule for the film, about the possible timing of its release, but since the project is fully supported by Formula 1, it can be expected that once the preparatory process is completed, further work will proceed quite quickly .
