Netflix producer Paul Martin admitted in an interview with The Post that replacing retired F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo in Drive to Survive won’t be easy, but he hopes Pierre Gasly…
Paul Martin: Without Daniel there would be no Drive to Survive. He was the first rider we spoke to, the first the film crew invited to his home in Australia. I was very emotional about his passing.
I hope Pierre Gasly can replace him. It’s interesting to work with him, he has an incredible story. We remember how he was transferred from Red Bull Racing to Toro Rosso, we remember the tragic death of his friend Antoine Hubert. It’s great that he’s getting another chance behind the wheel of a competitive car this year!
Over the course of our series he has grown on screen as a racer and as a person I think he can fill the gap left by Daniel’s departure.”
