The engine division of Red Bull Powertrains, which is building the 2026 powertrain for the Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri teams, has announced the signing of a new technical partner, Convergent Science.
The American company will provide CONVERGE CFD software, which will be used in the design of the engine.
Christian Horner, Head of Red Bull Racing: “The development of the powerplant for the 2026 season is being carried out daily at the new base of Red Bull Powertrains by a team of motivated engineers and mechanics. We continue to invest in people and equipment to create a competitive power plant.
CONVERGE CFD tools meet our needs and help build an engine that will win races. With CONVERGE CFD we can visualize and simulate the inside of a cylinder during fuel combustion, which will accelerate the development of a more powerful and efficient next-generation Formula 1 engine.”
