Valtteri Bottas joined Alfa Romeo in early 2022. Finn said his involvement in the team’s affairs has grown over the past year and goes beyond what a rider usually does.
Valtteri Bottas: “My role in the team is very different from before in Formula 1. Now I am much more involved in the team’s affairs, I get more information.
Since last year I have been trying to transfer all my experience and knowledge to the team. When we had problems with the car last year – with the balance or something – I always tried to give as much feedback as possible.
When I get to base, I’d like to hear all the news. In response, I share ideas and ask questions – we communicate all the time. The team has an open atmosphere – I like this approach. I like to know everything, to know every part of the machine.
Last year we took the right direction to refine the car – now this work is underway and we will see the results in the new car. I hope our results will be higher and we will continue to work hard.”
