Ferrari drivers happy with results of first day of testing

On the first day of testing in Bahrain, the Ferrari drivers completed 136 laps (736 km), worked on aerodynamic settings and checked how the impressions of the new car on the track matched the results of research based on the team.

Carlos Sainz: “In general, the first day went well. The reliability is in order and we were able to work normally, go through the entire program and collect valuable information.

All this is reassuring, because during the day we managed to improve the settings, as well as a good deal with the rubber, which we already tested in Abu Dhabi. Overall there is progress and I can’t wait to continue working tomorrow.”

Charles Leclerc: “After the first day of testing it was intense – I completed 64 laps and studied all aspects of the car’s behaviour. We focused on the setup, combining it with tire testing and aerodynamic performance, and driving it with different fuel loads.

Now we have to analyze all the information gathered and prepare for tomorrow’s session.”
