On Thursday, during testing in Bahrain, the Alpine team worked with two riders – Pierre Gasly got behind the wheel in the morning and Esteban Ocon replaced him in the afternoon. In total, the riders completed 113 laps, after which the team’s technical director, Matt Harman, summarized the results.
Matt Harman: “It’s great to be back in Bahrain for pre-season testing, which is crucial for all teams in their car preparation programs for the upcoming season. In three days it is important to travel as far as possible, collect useful information and lay a solid foundation for further work.
The team is happy with how things went today. Pierre piloted in the morning and Esteban in the afternoon. Our program was devoted to testing the characteristics of the aerodynamic body kit, understanding the mechanical balance of the car and choosing stable settings. All this will help gather new information over the next two days.
All of the car’s systems worked as expected, with drivers providing similar feedback. On Friday we continue to recognize the car – Esteban drives in the morning and Pierre replaces him in the afternoon.
