On the first day of testing, Ferrari lost a few tenths to Red Bull, but Charles Leclerc insists on not jumping to conclusions…
Charles Leclerc: “The Red Bull cars are fast, but we work according to our program and don’t pay attention to rivals.
We are happy with what we did yesterday. The data obtained on the track coincided with the data from which we emerged at the base – this is extremely important. That was our main job on the first day – putting the car in different scenarios, different configurations, to see if the data matches.
Today we are more focused on the settings and trying to get more speed out of the car. But in tests, no one will show you the real potential.
Now everyone is working on different programs. We do not know how much fuel the rivals have in their tanks, what modes of operation of the power plant they use. There are a lot of variables, so we’re completely self-centered. Let’s see what happens in the next few days.”
