Esteban Okon worked out the morning session on the second day of pre-season testing in Bahrain. The Alpine rider completed 49 laps before commenting on the work done, noting that there were no technical issues with the new A523.
Esteban Ocon: “Everything is going well. Good testing – these days I got the first impression of the car in the conditions the first weekend of the season will take place.
We learned a lot in these two days. We are in no hurry and work consistently on every trip to the track. We understand the car well and I hope that Pierre will successfully complete the afternoon session. So far we haven’t had any problems.
It is safe to say that we are now much better prepared for the start of the season than we were last year. At the beginning of 2022 we had a lot of problems with the car, just to drive laps, while we don’t talk about that at all now. Both Pierre and I have almost completed the planned program, so we are definitely in better shape than a year ago.
Tomorrow there are still a few things we need to check to better prepare for the first race. I will work in the evening if the conditions match those in which the race will take place – there must be good preparation.
