The second day of testing in Bahrain proved to be difficult for Mercedes – Lewis was prevented by hot weather and George was prevented by a hydraulic system failure…
Andrew Shovlin, Chief Race Engineer: “Day two didn’t go so well. All day long we tried to achieve the optimal balance, and in the end we stopped due to reliability issues. We are trying to understand what these difficulties are related to, because yesterday everything went smoothly. This work will continue through the night – we will know more in the morning.”
Lewis Hamilton «The morning session proved to be difficult. The high temperature of the asphalt made the task more difficult, the tires overheated, which often happens in Bahrain. Nevertheless, we completed the program, covered the required distance.
Everyone on the team is working hard and staying focused – we’re trying to collect as much information about W14 as possible. On Saturday, the last test day before the season, we have planned a busy schedule.”
