Leclerc: I’m sure reliability will be higher this year

Charles Leclerc drove the Ferrari SF-23 in the afternoon and concentrated on finding the optimal balance and analyzing the behavior of the C2 and C3 connections. Towards the end of the session he completed a long run of laps in a car with race settings and a higher fuel load.

Charles completed 68 laps in just one day and will continue tomorrow morning.

Charles Leclerc: “Today we did several checks, mainly aimed at finding settings. It is still too early to draw conclusions, but we keep working and it is good that the number of laps driven is gradually increasing. Before the last day of testing, we need to analyze the collected information.

I think we are happy because this data is generally in line with the calculations made based on the team, which is very important. We tried to test the behavior of the car in different conditions and configurations, find out if everything matched the calculations, but now it’s time to pay more attention to speed.

Of course, we will not demonstrate all the capabilities of the SF-23, since these are just tests, but none of the teams will fully reveal their potential. So right now it’s important to focus on our own tasks in order to best prepare for what lies ahead next week. But I am sure that this year will be better with the reliability of the equipment.”
