On the second day of testing, Red Bull did not escape problems, with Max Verstappen completing only 44 laps, but overall they are happy with the work done…
Max Verstappen (2e): “Today we focused on the details and made progress gradually. As before, the car responded adequately to changing settings, we collected enough information to move on. We learned a lot as we prepare for the upcoming race and the next stages.
I am very satisfied with the tests. Every time I got behind the wheel I felt at ease – and I was able to get straight to work. This is a huge credit to all our base staff who worked last year and over the winter to get this car ready.”
Sergio Perez (14th): “I enjoyed getting back behind the wheel of the RB19 this morning. We focused on reliability – that was the top priority. The car is fine, I hope we can do the final adjustments on Saturday.
It is slightly different from the RB18 because of the new tyres, but otherwise very similar. I am happy with the behavior of the car on track, we are in good shape. Tomorrow I will be working behind the wheel of the RB19 all day – looking forward to it. We will run a simulated race and try to prepare for qualifying.”
