Pat Fry: We were prevented by typical “teething problems”

Alpine drivers Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly completed laps 49 and 59 respectively on the second day of testing in Bahrain. The team noted that they could have covered a long distance, but lost time due to typical test failures.

Pat Fry, Chief Engineer: “The team had another productive day of testing – Esteban worked in the morning and in the afternoon he was replaced by Pierre. Since the tests only last three days, we aim to do as much as possible, testing different parts of the machine and options for settings.

Today we were able to do more than a hundred laps. During the day, the typical “teething problems” for tests arose, preventing us from driving long distances. Nevertheless, we managed to collect useful information that will help further improve the car for 2023.

In addition, we are pleased to have worked in the evening without any problems in conditions similar to those that await us during the first race weekend of the season.”
