Nick de Vries rounded off his season preparations by driving the AlphaTauri for the morning session of the final day of testing in Bahrain. The Dutch driver is satisfied with the reliability of the car and expects that he can consistently compete for points with the AT04.
Nick de Vries: “Today we worked on a long series of circles and ran a simulated race. We have completed the entire program after doing many laps in the last three days. The car showed excellent reliability, which allowed us to learn a lot that will help next week.
The team and I have found a common language. I had time to feel comfortable and understand what the team expects from me and what I expect from the team. Everything worked out, and now we will get acquainted together with the features of the machine. We can say that AT04 is not a revolution, but an evolution of last year. Everyone is trying to optimize the technology at their disposal, including us.
I am satisfied with how the tests went. I feel at home and ready for the start of the season. The team and I have the same goals for this season: to become more competitive than last year and to constantly fight for points. The fight in the middle group is incredibly tight, so you have to attack 100% to get a result.
