Alex Albon completed the last day of pre-season testing in Bahrain. In total he completed 136 laps for the morning and afternoon sessions and set the thirteenth fastest time of the day. The Williams driver viewed the results positively and said the new FW45 car is better than last year.
Alex Albon: “We covered quite a distance in three days of testing, did everything we planned, we did long and short series of laps. Now we need to study the collected telemetry and understand what kind of car we have at our disposal.
The new car is definitely faster than last year. In terms of concept philosophy, the difference isn’t that big, but there are slight differences in how the car feels on the track. The main deterrents we had last year have remained somewhat, but we’ll look at what we can do to minimize their impact.
I remember how the car was very difficult to drive at the beginning of last year, but now the situation is much better. The question is to what extent we have succeeded in closing the gap with the rest.”
