The third day of testing in Bahrain did not go entirely smoothly for McLaren, but both drivers believe that overall testing has gone relatively well and the team has been able to prepare for the first Grand Prix of the season.
Lando Norris: “Three days of testing in Bahrain went well. Firstly it’s nice to be back behind the wheel and secondly compared to last year we worked a lot better after doing so many laps. Overall. The team has done a good job, for which I thank you.
It is clear that improvements are still needed on certain points, but we are more or less well prepared for the upcoming race weekend. We have collected a large amount of information and will analyze it in detail next week.
We will try to get the most out of the car and it’s time to upgrade the MCL60.
Oscar Pistri: “The third test day is over. Things didn’t go entirely smoothly as there were a few problems with the car in the morning. I’ve done fewer laps than I’d like. However, we’ve had some good races and I keep learning all the time.
I think we’re in good shape and preparing for the first race weekend, although it would be great to do more laps, but that’s always the case. These were very useful days in terms of interaction with the team and I am grateful to McLaren for their support.”
