On Saturday, during testing in Bahrain, Yuki Tsunoda completed the afternoon session. The AlphaTauri racer completed 79 laps and was sixth fastest at the end of the day. Yuki said the team has identified some features of the AT04 over the past three days, but the car will go faster after repairs.
Yuki Tsunoda: “We spent three productive days of testing and collected a lot of useful information for the season. Today was the first day I worked during the day and was pleased with my pilots and feedback.
We have identified a number of limiting factors that require further investigation. I’m sure the team will improve in these areas to make the car faster.
The team will continue to work next week to maintain the pace – I hope we get good results in the upcoming races. As usual, the mid-group battle is very tight, but it’s hard for me to compare us to the rest because I don’t know what programs the opponents were working on. I’m taking a break so I can give 100% next week.”
