Hamilton: We’re not as fast as we’d like

If Mercedes had problems on the second day of testing, things went much better on the third day…

Andrew Schovlin, Chief Race Engineer: “We did a great job last night fixing yesterday’s issues, fine-tuning the configuration and settings – and today both drivers were happy with the car’s behavior in a variety of conditions. The balance on the fast lap and on long runs is much better.

We have a lot of work to do on speed, but today we made it clear what we need to focus on. We will use the remaining days before the first Grand Prix to analyze everything and add speed.”

Lewis Hamilton (2nd): “We spent several interesting days in Bahrain – we learned a lot of new things, the team worked seriously, did not calm down and remained focused.

So far we are not as fast as we would like, but we have a good basis for development. We don’t know where we will end up next week, but we will stay positive and keep doing our best.”

George Russell (8th): “Today was much more positive than the day before. We have taken a step forward and made progress in solving the problems that have arisen.

During testing we finalized the car and today the W14 looked noticeably better. There is still a lot of work ahead, but we are in better shape than before.”
