Yuki Tsunoda completed the morning session of the first day of testing in Bahrain, completing 46 laps. The AlphaTauri driver is pleased with the new car and expects to finish the season in the top ten and help the team finish fifth or sixth in the Constructors’ Championship.
Yuki Tsunoda: “It is still difficult to judge the joining forces, but the first impressions of the car are very positive. We managed to improve in some areas, especially in fast corners where downforce is needed.
I did more than forty laps, but the work was constantly interrupted by red flags. In the afternoon, Nick got behind the wheel – he will also do a lot of testing in the car. Let’s see how everything goes, but we won’t see the real speed of all teams until qualifying. We don’t know yet what positions we are in, but, as I said, the situation looks positive.
My goal for 2023 is to finish the season in the top ten of the individual standings. If we talk about the job as a whole, then I have to give my best in every race. I know that if I can do it, I will achieve the result. As far as the team’s goals are concerned, we are aiming for sixth or fifth place in the Constructors’ Championship, but this will require both drivers to consistently earn points.”
