Helmut Marko: We are not afraid of espionage

On the first day of testing it is better to refrain from conclusions and estimates, but it is not surprising that Red Bull Racing immediately took the lead in terms of the number of laps driven and the speed of Max Verstappen behind the wheel of the new RB19 is quite convincing.

“For the first time in many years we look confident, even at the start of winter testing,” said Helmut Marko, Red Bull Motorsport Advisor. – This is due to the fact that the technical regulations have remained relatively stable, the changes are only evolutionary, not revolutionary.

We like all the adjustments that have been made to it. We no longer have the opportunity to experiment, but Red Bull has such experienced specialists that we will be able to compensate for the restrictions imposed on us (we are talking about the fact that the championship team will have less time for aerodynamic research, and on top of that they will get a fine for violations of financial regulations, and in her case this time was reduced by a further 10%).

We are not afraid of spying from other teams, as we can no longer indulge in such tricks with limited budgets. Nobody can spend money on certain solutions if there is no complete certainty that they are really effective.

After all, if something is copied from someone, such a part must also be integrated into the concept of your car. This applies to the front and back, but even more so to the bottom. That’s where the big secrets lie!
