Aston Martin unsure if Stroll will start

Recently Lance Stroll injured his hand while training on a bicycle in southern Spain. The Canadian rider will miss pre-season testing but expects to start the first round of the season in Bahrain, which will take place March 3-5.

On Thursday in Bahrain, Aston Martin team boss Mike Krak gave some details about Lance’s health: “Last week Lance trained on the bike. He joined a minor incident, which left him injured. As a precaution, we decided it was best to wait a little longer and prepare for next week.

I don’t want to go into the details of the injury because it’s personal. He injured his hand, wrist, but I will not reveal other details.

When asked directly if Lance would compete in the Bahrain Grand Prix, Krak replied: “We’ll let you know when the time is right.”

On the first day of testing, Stroll was replaced by the team’s reserve driver, Felipe Drugovic. Krak added that the team has not yet decided whether the Brazilian will return behind the wheel in the remaining days, or whether Fernando Alonso will work them out in full: “In the morning, Felipe got behind the wheel – we did it for the sake of the team to provide all possible options. We have not yet made a final decision on who will drive in the coming days. We still have a few hours to do that.”
