Jenson Button entered the Guinness Book of Records

Jenson Button entered the Guinness Book of Records, where his achievement is now officially recorded: the 2009 world champion has now become the champion in reaction speed.

On the BATAK simulator for training and testing reaction speed, Jenson beat the previous feat of Arsha Shahrani, set four years ago, by extinguishing 58 lights in 30 seconds. The Iranian once paid off 56.

Such simulators are constantly used by racers, including Jenson, who consider them an important training tool, and even in the pits of many Formula 1 teams on Grand Prix days, such a machine is usually found.

For his achievement, Button received an official certificate from the Book of Records, after which he noted: “Actually, my best result in 2003 was 56 hits in 30 seconds, but then he did not enter the Book of Records. And then I was in my early 20s, so when I was offered to try and break that record, I said, “Well, I can try, but it’s going to be pretty hard, because I’m already 43 years old.”

And yet I did it, so I’m very happy, because if you manage to win a Formula 1 race or set a world record on the BATAK simulator, that’s great! So you were able to outshine everyone else.

Adrenaline is running high and when I broke the record, everyone celebrated it enthusiastically. You don’t normally hear cheers from the stands in a Formula 1 car, so that was great!”
