Alfa Romeo is ready for the new Formula 1 season. Drivers and team management are waiting for the Bahrain Grand Prix to assess the balance of power.
Alessandro Alunni Bravi, Managing Director of the Sauber Group and spokesperson for the Alfa Romeo F1 Team: “Pre-season testing is a thing of the past – it’s time to get back to racing. We worked hard over the winter and did our best to prepare as best we could – everyone at the Hinwil base can be proud of themselves.
The team is motivated and ready for the new season – we have done a good job in testing and are ready for the challenges ahead. Like other teams, we want to start racing to understand the balance of power. The season has only just started, but our goal is for the team to continue to develop.
For our drivers, the coming season will be the second in Alfa Romeo. We have a strong pair of pilots and we are happy to continue working with them.”
Valttery Bottas: “I had an interesting first year with the team, where we were constantly getting stronger and making good progress. Now we have only one way – forward, higher and better.
I believe the first few days of the season will help us get a sense of the balance of power and understand who our direct competitors are. A long season is coming up, but I am very motivated to get back on the track and I want to get high results in the interest of the team members – their efforts are needed so that we can race.
We have everything we need to succeed, but we need to stay focused and exploit the full potential of the C43. Let’s race!”
Guanyu Zhou: “We are on the verge of a new season. I learned a lot in my debut year and will use all the experience gained to improve in 2023. Together with the team we have achieved great results, but the expectations for this season are even higher.
Now I feel calmer than I did a year ago before my debut, and I’m ready to take advantage of this. I am ready for all the challenges that lie ahead on the track, but there is still a lot to learn and a lot to achieve. I am interested in the results we will achieve with the team – looking forward to it.
