The Aston Martin team has confirmed Lance Stroll’s participation in the Bahrain Grand Prix. The Canadian racer claims to have fully recovered from his injury.
Lance Stroll: “It’s a pity to miss three days of pre-season testing in Bahrain – I was angry about this fact. However, given the wrist injury, my team and I thought it was better to focus on restoring health so that I would be fully prepared for the weekend and the long season.
The injury was the result of an accident – I fell off my bike and drove a wheel into a pothole. Luckily I didn’t get too badly injured, so a small successful operation on my right wrist quickly solved the problem. Since then I’ve been working with the team to make sure I’m fully fit for the weekend ahead.
I would like to thank everyone in Formula 1 for their support and confidentiality, and the team for helping me recover. Now I’m ready to get back to work and fully concentrate on the race weekend – I’m looking forward to it.
Felipe Drugovic and Stoffel Vandorn remain with the team in Bahrain as reserves.
