Alfa Romeo finished sixth in the Constructors’ Championship last season. On the eve of the Bahrain Grand Prix, team principal Valtteri Bottas said the result should be higher in 2023.
Valtteri Bottas: “I don’t know what positions our team is in, but I assume the battle in the middle group will be very tight. Someone had problems during the tests, someone’s car was prone to build-up – so many factors that it is difficult to talk about the alignment of forces.
There is no doubt that we want to do better than last year. In 2022 the team finished sixth in the Constructors’ Championship and this season we should be higher. To do this, you need to add stability.
Taking the next step forward is not just my personal goal, but the goal of the whole team. We are making progress every year and based on what I saw in the new car, we have the opportunity to reach our goal. As I said, this requires stability and higher reliability than last year.”
