Friday training failed for AlphaTauri…
Yuki Tsunoda (18th): “Not the easiest day. We seriously lost to rivals. We don’t know what program they were on, but the reason for the lack of speed is also in our car. There’s another training session tomorrow, though, so I’m optimistic.
We have taken a step forward from last year and I am confident that we will continue to move in the right direction. We will now concentrate on qualifying to prepare ourselves as best we can for tomorrow.”
Nick deVries (19th: “Today was the first time I participated in the second training session as the team’s main rider. Overall I am satisfied with the work done and the progress we made. The conditions in the first and second sessions were totally different, but we worked well together.
The result so far leaves much to be desired, but I am confident that if we continue to improve the areas where we need to improve, we can take a step forward.
It’s hard to change a lot in one weekend, but we know our weaknesses. This circuit may not suit the characteristics of our car, but this is just the beginning. We will get a clearer picture in a few weekends.”
